Terms of use
These terms apply to everyone who uses the National Skill Passport registry, operated by PPM Consultant (SMC-Private) Limited on behalf of PPM Consultant (SMC-Private) Limited.
For applicants and passport holders
- Give true and complete information. A false statement or a forged document leads to refusal, or to revocation of a passport already issued.
- Register once. One person holds one NSP ID.
- Use your own mobile number or one you control. The one-time code sent to it is how we confirm that an application is yours.
- Keep your card safe and tell us if it is lost, so that it can be replaced and the old one marked as replaced.
- A passport can be suspended or revoked if the information behind it is found to be wrong. You will be told the reason and may ask for a review. See Contact and grievances.
- Registration fees, if any: [[OWNER TO CONFIRM: whether any fee is charged during the pilot]]
For verifiers: employers, institutions and authorities
- Use verification only to check a passport that has been presented to you, for a recruitment, admission, licensing or similar decision.
- Do not try to list, guess or harvest NSP IDs or serials. Verification is rate limited, and every check is logged.
- Do not store or pass on a holder's photograph beyond the decision you are making.
- A valid result confirms that the registry checked the holder's documents. It is not a guarantee of competence, and the decision you make remains yours.
- Bulk verifiers may be given an API key with higher limits. A key is for one organisation, must be kept secret and can be withdrawn.
The service
- The registry is provided as a pilot and may be changed, paused or withdrawn. We try to keep verification available at all times but do not guarantee it.
- The card design, the NSP ID format and the registry's signing key belong to the issuing authority. Copying a card or forging a QR code will be treated as fraud and may be reported to the authorities.
- Governing law and the forum for disputes: [[OWNER TO CONFIRM: governing law and jurisdiction clause]]
